Bismillah. I can understand the frustration of not losing weight even though you eat so healthy. So let’s have a look on reasons to why you may not lose weight, even though you’re eating so healthy.
Four things to check
First of all it’s important to look at your eating regime from an objective point of view. The definition of healthy food and an a healthy eating regime may be different from person to person. But it’s also one thing to eat healthy foods, but you must also be aware of the amounts.
The All-or-Nothing approach
What I’ve seen so many times for example, are women who are dieting and for example follow the intermittent fasting diet. Sounds great, but it ends up in binge eating in the evenings and less healthy food choices. That will not only result in un-satisfaction and feelings of guilt, but probably also tiredness, stomach pain and a calorie intake making you not losing weight, or making you even gain weight!
Too much during the weekend
Another very common scenario is to eat in a controlled manner during the week, but go all in during the weekend. Meaning that perhaps you’re set up for great progress to lose weight during the week, but then when you eat too many calories during the weekend, it’ll result in maintained weight or even weight gain.
You don’t know how much you actually eat
Thirdly; you don’t know how much you’re actually eating. Because if we eat too much, we will gain weight. Some healthy types of foods include many calories and therefor it’s easy to quickly eat too many calories. Natural nuts, natural nuts butter, olive oil, coconut oil, olives, avocado, salmon are examples of healthy foods, but that includes a lot of energy. Meaning, very easy to eat more than you actually need from it.
You’re eating too less
The body wants to survive and holds on to whatever it can. But wait. In this case you’ll also feel tired, fatigue and exhausted. You’ll probably be less likely to workout, be hungry all the time and be moody. Which sooner or later probably ends up in binge eating. The already unhappy stomach and bad digestion get worse, and you get even more tired.
With low intensity workouts and with no energy for the body to build muscles; you’ll not maximize your fat burning, neither your energy.
How to fix it
- Start to write food diary to increase your awareness about what you actually eat. Please note that everything (I mean Everything) you eat, should be included. All tastes, bites and drinks.
- Get the skills. Learn more about how much you actually need, what foods to choose and how to understand your own body. To learn more about portion awareness is one thing, how much your calorie intake would look like, and then learn to listen into your body and how the food you eat effects your mood and wellbeing.
- Be honest with yourself. If you write down when you eat “well and when you eat healthy”, perhaps you also know how many calories you’re eating. But then also do the same when you’re binge eating or during the weekend.
- If you’re still not progressing, finding tranquility or losing weight, really consider to start to work with an online coach who can help you to solve it.
Thank you & Energetic Regards,
