I know what the feeling is like when you’re tired, the stomach seems to be upset and you’re just feeling uncomfortable with yourself. You’re happy and you’re thankful, but you’re so hungry. “Tomorrow will be better. I’ll start to eat healthy tomorrow”. But then it was another day again when the sticky chocolate cake attacked you from the fridge. You wonder what’s wrong with you. But no, there is nothing wrong with you! You just need to get the tools and inspiration to move from unhealthy- to healthy habits!

Keep it simple
One of the biggest mistakes is to start to do too many things at the same time. You are unlikely to just change like that. It’s just not realistic. And if your action plan isn’t realistic, you are also unlikely to succeed.
So what would be a realistic plan and guidance to follow, when you realize you need to get healthier and fit? First of all, ask yourself why you want to be healthy and why it’s important to you. Hopefully it is for your own wellbeing, or for an important reason that really matters to you.

Then, think of actions as habits. Take one habit at the time. Think of habits as those that would have the biggest impact on your health and wellbeing. Focus on one habit for about 1-2 weeks until you master it. Then add another habit and build upon that.
Simple Habits for a Fit Life

- The habit of drinking at least 2 liters of water per day.
- Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, like the half plate for lunch and dinner with vegetables.
- Focus on eating lean protein, healthy fats and nutritious carbs.
- Eat about 20-30 gram fibre per day.
- Minimize junk food or food full of preservatives.
- Workout regularly (weekly), and walk daily.
The 90/10 Lifestyle

But remember, strive for a sustainable and manageable eating regime. Healthy habits don’t mean to be dogmatic and super strict, to the degree that it’s difficult in various ways. It’s merely about what you do 90% of the time.
And what you do 90% of the time, will support you to feel awesome 100% of the time. What you do 10% of the time is what some people call “cheating”, but I would call it “extra luxury” or “sweet treat”.
Because the thing is. When you’re kind to yourself, by nourishing yourself, you will not be hungry for junk- or sugary foods in the same way, and you will likely not have cravings either. Everything will get easier. Cravings are by the way, most often a “call for help” from the body, calling you to nourish yourself with nutrition, or other human needs.
Just remember to take it step-by-step, always keep going and trust that you can.
What is the most important habit that would benefit you the most to start to work on today? Please share, I’d love to know. Thanks.
