I can still remember when I went to the local mini-market in my compound and bought some different half liter ice creams. I felt so ashamed, so embarrassed, because I knew how unhealthy that was. But I was also scared of what I was doing to myself, and I felt very guilty. At the same time I was telling myself “today is the last day, I’ll stop on Monday and I’ll not do this to myself anymore..” Continue to read the story of my own transformation, from sugar addicted to relaxed.
The problem I see in being unhealthy is often that it doesn’t leave you at peace. For many reasons. The body isn’t happy physically because of bad lifestyle choices. When the body isn’t happy physically, the mind cannot be at ease either.
Then the mental aspect of being unhappy and feeling it’s like a failure, easily puts you in a negative circle. In order to try to quickly fix that you might start to be super strict, and it goes to the other extreme instead.
That almost never works, neither is it healthy.
I’ve been there. No carbohydrates, no fat and thinking that is healthy. Until you attack the box of cookies and you cannot stop eating.
That isn’t peace and freedom. Neither tranquility.
What is then a healthy eating regime and a healthy lifestyle?
Some key points could be:
- To have a healthy weight to your length.
- To feel free and that you’re in control, meaning that the food isn’t controlling you.
- You eat good things that are healthy for the body, the inside is healthy.
- You have energy in every day life, and you can workout powerfully but also have energy for all your duties.
- You are at ease. You are calm, and happy with the lifestyle choices you are making.
If you think the above make sense, but you haven’t yet achieved this, what would be the steps to take?
For me, I was really fed up crying and eating ice cream… it didn’t really show on the outside of my body, but the inside wasn’t fine.
I started to work with my relationships, and especially the two closest ones, but also with my mindset.
Feeling that low, I felt I had to make a serious change in my life, as well as grow my business. So I made an incredible decision and started my studies to become Health Coach. Hashtag love, hashtag happiness and hashtag that-was-amazing- studies. It helped me to wake up and change.
Then I added in more vegetables into my diet. I focused on adding in, instead of putting up strict restriction this and that.
As my relationships drastically changed to the better, the relationship to myself also transformed. I started to think about how I could nourish myself with healthy relationships and healthy food again.
The brain fog started to disappear. I started to feel peace from within. I started to feel secure. I started to feel calm.
That gave me strength.
What is it then that I’m chasing with living a healthy lifestyle? Is it only about a certain number on the scale or be skinny? No, absolutely not! Neither am I skinny and will never be I guess.
It’s rather about what I want to feel each and every day!
I want to feel free, I want to feel energized, I want to feel calm, I want to feel productive, I want to lift weights, I want to run, I want to go biking, I want to explore, I want to feel happy, I want to feel “boom here I am”, I want to feel good with myself and I want to feel good with others and I simply love the feeling of working out! Boom.
What is your “why”, what do you want to feel each day? What is your motivation driving you? Or what do you like to share in this regard? What ever comes to your mind, please share! Appreciate it, thank you so much!
