The past days I’ve been thinking a lot about being thankful and not being angry. This is a post about finding health through gratitude.
It has been raining and cold for many days or even a week now. I’m looking out of the window gazing people walking in the street without rain boats or even umbrellas. When they get home, they probably not have any heaters. Electricity is too expensive here. Because of that, they most likely don’t have any tumble dryer either. So they haven’t been able to do any laundry for a week, because how would it get dry…
Maybe I shouldn’t “complain” about that I don’t have heaters in the floor in the bathroom anymore…. When there are those that would love to have just a heater at night or ability to have clean and dry clothes.
It’s so easy to get angry. I was about to freak out the other day when I finally got out of the house and went for a power-walk. The bus almost hit me, a guy was annoying and another guy harassing a woman in the street. There is one thing to take action and “put your foot down” and do what you can to change it. Or at least be unhappy with it in your heart. But we shouldn’t get angry, and that’s a reminder to myself first and foremost. Similarly a smile is charity. How beautiful is that.
Having studied a little bit about the life of our beloved Prophet SAW, I learned about how kind he SAW always was. Kindness. And Allah SWT is The Most Merciful. SWT.
How can anyone fall in love with the perfect religion of Islam, if they aren’t met with kindness?
Just look back in history how the people of Makkah fled to Abyssinia, and how the Christian king welcomed them… And there is no compulsion in religion. And what I want for myself, I want for others.
Allah SWT guided me, and guided us to Islam, to the truth. But we can never ever take anything for granted. So how can I not be humble, and how can I not be thankful? And when the heart is remembering Allah SWT we will be at ease. When we are calm, remembering all our blessings, looking at those below us that have less, how can we not be thankful?
So that little smile and “Assalamualaykum” not only gives you 10 hasanat in Shaa Allah, but it can make your, and someone else’s day. When you’re happy you’ll be strong, and when you’re strong you’re unstoppable!
Just wanted to say that. Thank you for listening. Alhamdullilah.
